Adobe Illustrator/I have troubles exporting a AI file to TIFF/JPEG

Question
I have made a complex drawing in Illustrator 10 and when I try to export as TIFF or JPEG I get prompted that it's not possible. I am wondering if this is because the file is too complex? or why this may be happening? I am running on win2k on a pretty old computer... I have tried the "Save for web" as well but that also won't work. Any ideas?

Answer
Hi Radek,

You are correct that your file is probably too complex for your operating system to handle. Win2K was the minimum requirement for AI 10, which means yes it will run, but not very well.

One option to try is to simplify your image. If you have a lot of effects or complex paths, you may have to reduce that. My only other suggestion is to up your RAM, if possible, or invest in newer equipment (sorry not cheap I know!).

Thanks

Kevin
