Hi Kevin,

I have Illustrator CD v.11.0.0. I am trying to simply edit text in a multi-page,
editable .pdf, received from my designer. However when the file opens, the
warning says

"this document contains pdf objects that have been reinterpreted"
"The font HelveticaNeue-BoldCond is missing.  Affected text will be displayed
using a substitute font.
The font HelveticaNeue-Condensed is missing.  Affected text will be
displayed using a substitute font."

I am on a Mac Powerbook, Tiger, v.10.4.11 with Helvetica Neue in the font
book, Library/fonts folder, and have tried alternate fixes you've suggested to
similar questions, like re-starting, re-setting factory settings didn't work.

I am under time pressure, as designer has gone awol, and must submit this
artwork today for CD artwork manufacturing of an album release.

How can I get Illustrator to utilise the Helvitaca Neue font, currently it
changes the font to it's own default.

Hi Russ,

Hi Russ, if you go to Illustrator and explore your character palette, I think you will find that your font is loaded. However, you may be missing the Helvetica Neue font that he used. There are several versions out there and yours may not be the same.

You can use the find font option in Illustrator to replace the font in the file (Type Menu) once you have it open. Yours could appear to be the same, but it is a different file.
