Adobe Illustrator/Missing font in an outlined file

Question
I've created outline for all artwork and text but my printer still said some fonts didn't show up.  What's the problem?  Both of us use CS2.  Does working on a PC or Mac makes any difference?
Is it possible to revert an outlined file to an editable file?

Answer
Hi Abby,

Fonts do make a difference when going from Mac to PC. Only open type fonts are available for both, otherwise the Adobe family has both mac and PC. Any other fonts created in one platform and switched to another will cause missing fonts.

However, in your particular case, I would ignore the issue if it prints ok. This could just be a system or application font used for the actual program that your printer thinks it needs.

And sorry, there is no way once you have converted to switch back, unless you can back up using undos. Once you save and close, you cant go back. I always save a copy of the live text in either a hidden layer or another doc.

Thanks
