Adobe Illustrator/Old Adobe Illustrator 8 file won't open.

Question
In Dec of 2002 a co-worker of mine designed a neat CD cover for a DJ mix I worked on. Just for kicks I wanted to see the artwork again all these years later.

To my surprise file doesn't open. I don't think it's damaged, but I've tried Illustrator 10 and it just doesn't work. I have no idea how to use illustrator and to be quite honest I never really checked if the file ever worked since I trusted it was always there and working fine.

Is there any way to try and make this work or salvage the work? It would be a shame to lose this. Thanks.

Answer
Hi Felix,

What is the extension of the file? .eps, .ai, etc. Without knowing what kind of a file this is, there is little I can do to help except tell you to try and open it in Photoshop. Illustrator 8 files should open in newer versions if they are ok.

Let me know the extension and I can suggest things.

Thanks

Kevin
