Adobe Illustrator/Placing eps files into Illustrator

Question
Yes, every time I place a eps file (saved from InDesign) into my Illustrator file, it does not place it centered in the page, it off sets it to the right & down. I have like 700 files I will eventually be placing and saving, thought there would be a setting so every time I place a image (the eps files from InDesign are the same size as my Illustrator document)they would center to the page both vertically & horizontally without having to do it manually. Can anyone help?

Thanks!

Answer
Hi Tim,

There is no setting to place images in Illustrator automatically centered, however, I would OPEN the files if they are eps files and they should open just fine. Otherwise a great option from ID to AI is to save the ID files out as PDFs and bring them in.

Thanks

Kevin
