Question
hello kevin,

i was wondering if there's a way to change the color on a flattened EPS logo with a white background.  i'd also like to get rid of that white background and make it clear.  is there a way to do this in CS3?  thanks for your help!

Answer
Hi Owen,

If this was an eps logo and vector art you could use the Live Color option (found at the bottom of the color guide palette - looks like a color wheel). However since this is a raster image, you will have to edit the color in Photoshop. Things changed with CS3 and cross application support is now the hot item, simplicity be damned.

To remove the white background, you can create a clipping mask. Draw a shape using the pen tool around the image and then click the clipping mask button at the bottom of the layers palette (make sure the image and mask are on their own layer).

Otherwise, if you have to go into Photoshop anyway to adjust the color, then you can remove the background in there as well.

Thanks

Kevin
