Adobe Illustrator/locked file and vector

Question
Hi,
I've received a file of our new company logo in AI 10 that I'm opening in CS2. Moved it to the hard drive and opened it. It has a locked file icon. Can't seem to change view or do anything to it.

Also, when (and if) I can get it open, how do I resize it in AI CS2 to fit the much larger area that I need. (I was told that it's a vector file, but I can't tell yet.)

Many thanks, Judy

Answer
Hi Judy,

You need to go to File>Info in the desktop, not in AI to unlock your file. If this is a PC system,  right click and get properties. Either way will unlock your file. If neither of those work, then you may have a corrupt file and will need to recopy it over.

Once opened, you can select the image, and use the transform tools in the tool bar to scale this to the correct size. Be sure to increase your document size under File>Document Setup.

Thanks

Kevin
