I have Illustrator files that were created in 1994 and 1995. Illustrator 9 on an
older Mac opened two of them and said they were version 5/5.5, and in
saving them as version 9, I got CS3 to see them. Illustrator 9 won't see any of
the others, and Illustrator CS3 won't see any of them. So I'm assuming the
others are in earlier versions of Illustrator than 5/5.5. Is there any way of
opening these really old files? We really need to get to them.

Hi Marcy,

Try changing the extension to .eps or .pdf to see if they open (do this on copies of the files, not the originals).

Normally, if you try to open through the menu in Illustrator it works better too instead of drag and drop or double click.
