Question How do I take a label in 14 pt type and turn it into an object so that when I
rotate it the type does not fall apart?
Thank you!
Answer Hi Priscilla,
My understanding is that you want to rotate the text and not just the text box. Using the text box corners to rotate the text is not the correct approach. Here are the correct ways:
1. Select the text box using the selection tool (black arrow) and then select the rotate tool from the tools menu. Click your left mouse button anywhere and drag it. Your text will rotate around its center.
To rotate around another point select the text box, click on the rotate tool, click once anywhere you want to be the center of rotations and finally click again and drag to rotate your text box.
2. Another way is using the "Free Transform" tool that you can find in the tool box. Just select the text box, click on the "Free Transform" tool and move your mouse until your near a corner and it'll change to a rotation tool that will rotate the text for you.
3. Finally, if you want to rotate to a certain angle: select the text box, select "Object>Transform> Rotate" from the top menu and enter the angle that you want in the "angle" field.
If you think I didn't understand your question please send me a follow-up question and I will happy to assist you.
Best regards,
Laith
