Adobe Illustrator/illustrator saves document off center

Question
I'm not a graphics expert, but I've generally been able to fiddle around with verious software packages to accomplish what I need to. I volunteered to help a local nonprofit create a regional who-has-which-territory map. It looks fine in Illustrator (Windows CS1), but no matter which format I try to save the file as (pdf, jpg, mdi, png, tif, bmp) it ends up saving the map off center. It shifts the image a couple of inches to the right as though there were a left-hand margin. The document was created as 11x17 on a computer that is only connected to an 8.5x11 printer. I want to email it (or save to a portable drive) to a computer attached to an 11x17 printer. I've gone into all the printer/document/pdf setups and set everything for 11x17. When I save/save as/export the file, I get the full 17 inch height, but it is off center horizontally.

Answer
Hi Phoenix,

Your page is off center, but you knew that. Under the hand tool is the page tool. Double click the page icon on the toolbar and it will reset your page to center.

Otherwise, if you add crop marks to your art, you can have it export out the image with the crop instead of where your page is set.

Thanks

Kevin
