Adobe Illustrator/Fill color

Question
I have selected the base path then added the shadow paths and in the
pathfinder, alt-clicked the 'compound object and intersect shape button'.  How
come I couldn't fill some selections with color?  Does it have a connection with it
being a compound object?

Answer
Hi Heidi,

Im not sure what you mean by "shadow paths" since I cannot see your work.

But yes, it has to do with the intersect pathfinder command. This means that anything that you have selected that overlaps will be the only thing left to fill, anything that does not overlap will be gone.

Since Im not sure what your objective is for this and do not have an image to view, I really can't be more help than that.

Thanks

Kevin
