Question QUESTION: Hi Kevin,
I am using Illustrator CS4 and would like to import new fonts that I would like to use into the application. How can I do this?
I use a Mac with OS X 10.6.1 (snow leopard)
Kind regards
Jayson
ANSWER: Hi Jayson,
If you do not have a Font Management app, such as Suitcase or FontExplorer, you can use Font Book in the applications folder and open the fonts through that app.

QUESTION: Thanks Kevin,
How do I open the fonts in Illustrator through Font Book?
Regards
Jayson
ANSWER: Hi Jayson,
Once you add them in Font Book, it is available to all apps in the system. You will have to restart Illustrator if you have it open when you install.

QUESTION: Hi Kevin,
Thanks for your answer. It has left me somewhat confused as the reason I initially got in touch was because a number of fonts I would like to use in Font book are missing in Illustrator and thought there was a way of importing them in, but going by your answer, they should already be present. So I guess Im limited to the fonts that are available in the application.
Regards
Jayson
Answer Hi Jayson,
The only limitations you have for fonts is your system memory. How many do you have installed? What you may have is an incompatible font with Illustrator which has been known to occur. What is the name of the particular font you are trying to install and where did you acquire it?
Thanks
KEvin
