Adobe Illustrator/Saving as PDF in Illustrator CS4

Question
I have created a document in Illustrator CS4 but when I hit "save as PDF" and the PDF loads, the PDF is missing the blue masthead which is on my CS4 illustrator document.  I have not had this problem before and I can't figure out what to do to correct it.  Can you suggest anything please.

Answer
Hi.

Hmmm. Is the masthead on a non-printing layer?
Is it an imported graphic? Embed it instead of linking it (also shouldn't matter).

Is it set to some funky transparency or overprint (unlikely culprit with something that's blue).

Could be so many things - I bet I can figure it out quickly if I look at it.

If it isn't one of the above, save down to CS3 and send AI file to me at AmyLynPace@yahoo.com - I will let you know right away.

Expertise

I can help troubleshoot your Illustrator 9 through CS3 (and most CS4) problems and suggest the best way to get the results you need. Although I can help with some installation issues, my forte is prepress and how to use the tools and functions in the application itself.

I've been a graphic artist for over 20 years. Oh my God, 20 years.
