Adobe Illustrator/aiprefs

Question
Hello
So, I've been researching all over the web regarding my issue. The blur option is off, and I'm not able to select it when using the drop shadow filter/effect. I understand from reading blogs that I have to delete aiprefs. I'm unable to locate that file and I also did a search. Please let me know how I can fix this issue.

Thank you!

I have a PC and I'm using Illustrator CS

Answer
Hi Melinda.

One of the folders in the path of its location is usually hidden.

So do a search on your machine and check the box that says "Search Hidden Files and Folders."

Search for AIprefs written just like that. Make sure you are not running Illustrator when you do it. Delete AIprefs. Start Illustrator.

Le me know if that fixes it for you. If not, we'll figure it out.

Expertise

I can help troubleshoot your Illustrator 9 through CS3 (and most CS4) problems and suggest the best way to get the results you need. Although I can help with some installation issues, my forte is prepress and how to use the tools and functions in the application itself.

Experience

I've been a graphic artist for over 20 years. Oh my God, 20 years.
