Adobe Illustrator/Artboard show when exporting as graphic file (jpg)

Question
CS4
I am new to Illustrator, just have used Mac iLife software.
I have created a rounded rectangle then exported to JPG. When I import it in to Dreamweaver or Powerpoint the square corners outside the round artwork show up as white. I think it is the artboard. How do I solve that problem?

Thanks

Answer
Hi Gordon,

This is not really an Illustrator issue, it is your file type. Jpegs are flattened images and do not support transparency hence the corners of your file showing up.

Save it as a PNG-24 instead. That will allow you to have transparent edges given you the rounded corners.

Thanks

Kevin
