Adobe Illustrator/Book for beginner - CS3

Question
Hi Kevin,

I've been asked to teach a colleague illustrator as she will be taking over this aspect of my job. The person I will be training has no graphics experience. While I've been using illustrator for a few years now, I had to teach myself on the job (I'm an accountant!). I'm sure there are better ways to do a lot of what I'm doing now and don't want to teach her things the difficult way.

I'm looking for a good book that covers all the basics for an absolute beginner. I have the Classroom in a Book but find that it isn't organized in a way that seems logical to me and isn't basic enough. Can you make any suggestions please?

Thanks so much,
Alison

Answer
HI Alison,

I would actually take a look at Lynda.com. They have a subscription service that has tutorial videos that are more appropriate for beginners. Or you can try the Real World Illustrator by Mordy Golding -  very easy to follow along.

Thanks

Kevin
