Adobe Illustrator/Printing CMYK profile to office printer

Question
"Hi, I have a CMYK file that I created in.ai. I sent the file to a professional
printer. It came back as a high contrast print- very bad. When I export  the
file as sRGB file and then print too my home office printer, it's prints great
and looks as it should.  How can I fix the contrast
issue in the .ai CMYK file so it will print on a CMYK printer (office) and get
the better results as I get with the sRGB file?"

Answer
Hi Laurie,

Could you please send me the AI file? I have CS3, so if you have CS4, please save down to CS3.

If there are any fonts in the doc, please convert them to outlines.

I'll take a look and see what you might be able to do to improve the output at the professional printers.

Expertise

I can help troubleshoot your Illustrator 9 through CS3 (and most CS4) problems and suggest the best way to get the results you need. Although I can help with some installation issues, my forte is prepress and how to use the tools and functions in the application itself.

Experience

I've been a graphic artist for over 20 years. Oh my God, 20 years.
