Question
i have a pc and version cs4 of illustrator and i have drawn various lines to make a line drawing of a city skyline i have made all the lines join each other to make a box so now i want those lines to become a solid object so i can make a clipping mask with a jpeg file please help if you know the answer. Thankyou. simon

Answer
Hi Simon,

If the paths are all truly connected/joined, the object should be able to be a clipping path already.

What I think is the case is that although the lines "join each other" they are not properly joined.

I'd like to take a look at your file to tell you what to do. You can email it to me at amylynpace@yahoo.com and I'll take a look.

Please save down to CS3 format, as I do not have CS4.

Thanks!
Amy

Expertise

I can help troubleshoot your Illustrator 9 through CS3 (and most CS4) problems and suggest the best way to get the results you need. Although I can help with some installation issues, my forte is prepress and how to use the tools and functions in the application itself.

Experience

I've been a graphic artist for over 20 years. Oh my God, 20 years.
