Adobe Illustrator/Print to file

Question
When printing to file on a Mac it automatically creates a postscript .ps file. On a PC it creates a .prn file. Is the .prn file really a postscript file and can I use it as a .ps file just by changing the extension to .ps? What do you recommend as the best way to print postscript to file on a PC?

Answer
Hi Steve,

I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to do but here's a website that may help. FileInfo.net. Then, search for prn. It give some instructions for printing prn files.
Another thing I've heard of is a program called Printfile (I think you can download it free). It's a drag and drop program. I'm sure there are some others out there but I remembered this one (probably due to the name).
I hope this helped.

Thank you,

Tom
