Adobe Illustrator/Vinyl Graphics

Question
A two part question.
1)How do I prepare a graphic, font and/or image to send to a printer and a vinyl cutter?
2)How do I send it to both?

Answer
Hi Lee,

First you must create outlines for your fonts and make sure all your images are vector, not placed raster graphics. Vinyl cutters rely on paths to make their cuts. After you are done, have your vinyl cutter take a look at the document and preflight it for you.

For printers, save your graphics as a press quality PDF as a start. If you are sending this to a commercial printer, talk to them for their preferred setup.

Thanks

Kevin
