Adobe Illustrator/Illustrator 9 & Eps files

Question
Illustrator 9,  I create a Test file, assign Profile working space as RGB, Color settings as Custom, Working space as Adobe RGB (1998), CMYK U, set the Document Color Mode to RGB, draw a 2 inch  square, fill it with 525 purple (57/38/108) save as an AI file. When I open it the color has not changed.
I re-open the same file, save the file as an EPS 6, PS 3 file,  When I re-open it the Profile is CMYK and the colors have changed (57/43/110)
     - Why does the colour space change from RGB to CMYK ?
     - What do I do to stop it changing  ?

Thanks  Ian Campbell

Answer
Hi Ian,

If I understand correctly the problem happens when you open in Adobe PS.
The problem is with the color profile settings.
Try saving the file as .eps but in the EPS options window uncheck "include CMYK Postscript in RGB files" and save. Then, when you first open the file in PS make sure you select RGB profile.
I hope this helped.

Thank you,

Tom
