Question
QUESTION: I need to set the max density on a photograph I am using to no greater than 240 for printing.   How do I do this.  I have Illustrator CS3 13.0 the photo is CMYK and cannot exceed 240.  Thank you

ANSWER: HI Tina,

You would accomplish this using the Edit>Color Settings and choosing a profile (US sheetfed, web, offset, etc) that would give you a 240% print density. (Each one shows the max ink density).

Thanks

Kevin

QUESTION: I looked at this and can't find one lower than 260%

Answer
Hi Tina,

If the print settings do not work, you will need to adjust the ink density of this photo in Photoshop. Illustrator does not have the capability to adjust the levels in the image (In PS you will go to Image>Adjust>Levels). using Levels, you can reduce the output levels to 240.

Thanks

Kevin
