Adobe Illustrator/PSD layer placement issues in AI

Question
Hi Kevin,

I'm using CS2 and encountering a small issue that is really starting to bug me. When placing psd files with transparencies in both Illustrator or Indesign all looks fine until I go to print. The transparency of the psd changes the opacity of any shape underneath thus producing some rather unpleasing print-outs. Any ideas?

Cheers
Kristian

Answer
Hi Kristian,

This was a known issue with CS2 and transparency. The only work around was to create a clipping mask using paths in Photoshop. This may not be the best option, but it was the only solution. CS3 fixed these transparency issues.

Thanks
