Question
QUESTION: Hi, Kevin,

I'm a student; my experience with photoshop/illustrator is weeks old. For a project I'm working on, I had to make a graphic that is a baby crying with words coming out of its mouth. The inside of the mouth will be black (and I'll be using red fill for the type) and then it will go across the red cheek of the baby (back to black fill) and then end up on a black background (red fill again). I'm not sure how to accomplish this. Your help would be much appreciated.

ANSWER: Hi Sandra,

You have to individually select the areas using the text tool and change the color of the highlighted text.

Thanks

Kevin

QUESTION: Thanks for the quick response, Kevin. That worked, but now I have one letter that needs to change to a different color and there are 2 letters (Ws) that I was wondering if you could make them half black and half red, since they split over the color background. The letters were typed on a path, if that makes a difference. Thanks again!

Answer
Hi Sandra,

This is something you should follow up with your instructor since this is homework. I would outline the word to paths and split the shape into two objects. However, Im not sure how advanced you have gone so again, check with the instructor.

Thanks

Kevin
