Question
Kevin-

Hi there. I'm trying to make several Illustrator vectors (hundreds) – each a self-contained compound shape on its own layer – into a Photoshop custom shape library (.csh file). I have tried exporting to PSD with maximum editability then saving the whole .psd as a .csh file to try "tricking it" into readoing it as a .csh library, but to no avail. I have TONS of individual compound shapes in AI that all need to be saved in PS to be used as shape layers, so any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Scott

PS. I already know about EDIT>DEFINE SHAPE for each one manually - I'm in need of a batch process :)

Answer
Hi Scott,

I guess you've figured out that there is no way to "trick" this.

The only option I can think of is to record an action and batch process these using File>Automate>Batch. Im not sure if it will work for you since there is some manual entry needed (naming the shape). There is no way to completely automate this with the dialog box that pops up on Define Shape, but its a start.

Thanks

Kevin
