Question

Logo Twisted
I have CS4. I am trying to jazz up a logo that I have in jpg and png. When I place or embed it into an AI document, and try to extrude & bevel it, as you've probably guessed, it treats the edges of the jpg as part of the design. How can I grab just the graphic and make it a usable AI item?
Thank you!

Answer
Hi Twila,

When you place your image, click "Live Trace" in the options bar. Then select your preset that works best, and then click the "expand" button in the options bar. Your image will then be a vector piece that you can manipulate in AI.

Thanks

Kevin
