Adobe Illustrator/Font Problem

Question
I need to modify AI files created by another person using CS2 on a Mac. I am using CS4 on a PC. When I open her files, I always get the message that the fonts in her file are missing, even though I have installed them in 3 places (Windows, Adobe Support Files, Required, Fonts and Common Files, Adobe, Fonts). The fonts are ok when I open a new file and type them, so they are there.

Answer
Hi Kimberly,

You may have similarly named fonts that are not exactly what the other person used. I have this problem a lot on PC. It could also be that you do not have the particular style of that font family (extra bold, italic, demi, etc.). The best option is to get the exact same fonts from this person to ensure they are the same or if you are confident they are just do a replace font found under the type menu.

Thanks

Kevin
