Adobe Illustrator/Corrupted File / PDF Export

Question
Hi,
I'm using Illustrator 10 and have the following problem: I have a file that opens in Illustrator and can be worked with without any problems. It can be saved and opened again. EPS export works too. I can save a PDF file and open it again with Illustrator. However, when saving as PDF, I am not able to open it with Acrobat though I have tested different versions and used different PDF save options. I use Acrobat 6.0 Professional.

This is somewhat annoying as PDF is the required format for all my printing purposes.

I would greatly appreciate any help. I must say that unfortunately, the file was originally created with Illustrator CS2 and saved for Illustrator 10.

Regards,
Matthias

Answer
Hi Matthias,

When saving out as a PDF, stick with the PDF presets in Illustrator. A lot of times I hear about this and it has to do with changing the compression, etc. and it corrupts the PDF. The other issue is watch what version of Acrobat it is saving out to (the pull down is in the upper right corner of the PDF Dialog box). Make sure you have it saved to version 6 or earlier.

Thanks

Kevin
