Question
Hello all..
I created a 2 color piece in Illustrator in which i used the drop shadow effect. Can you use shading or drop shadows in 2 color jobs or will it not print properly. I read that you can only use solid colors when only working with 2 color jobs and just need clarification. Thanx!

Kelly

Answer
Hi Kelly,

If you go to Effects>Document Raster Effects Settings, you can tell it to Use Spot Colors. This should allow you to use spot colors for creating shadows and other effects.

You have to use solid colors (spot) when working with 2 color jobs. If you use RGB or CMYK, it can add additional colors if you are not careful. Most 2 color jobs use a Pantone series of colors.

Thanks

Kevin
