Adobe Illustrator/Pdf white border image

Question
Hi Richard,

I have searched everywhere for an answer to my problem and have had no luck. I am hoping you can help me.

I created a sphere logo in photoshop that i saved as a PNG in order for it to have no background to later import it to Illustrator. It looks fine until I save my file as a PDF in illustrator. My background in the image is grey and the logo appears to have a white trim on the sphere. i have not been able to find a way to remove that white trim. Do you have any suggestions?

Answer
Assuming you saved the PNG with transperancy, I am not sure why this is happening.
CAn I ask why you chose to create the sphere in photoshop, rather than illustrator? Anything you can do graphically in photoshop you can do in illustrator, and creating the object in illustrator would obviously stop this problem happening.
If you are having trouble recreating the object in illustrator send me a picture of it and I will try to help you out.
