Good afternoon. I have been using illustrator 12.0 for a number of years running on os 10.4.11 and starting yesterday, the program will not open. It starts but then stalls, I have run norton, i have reinstalled both the program and os, i have shut off a lot of the fonts. It still will not open. Help please.

Hi Randy,

There could be a number of reasons why it would suddenly stop working but the main reason is normally a font or other software package was installed after CS2 and removed a source file.

On the startup screen, note where it stalls and what the status says (loading fonts, plug-ins, etc.) and that should help pinpoint problems. If it is stalling on the fonts portion, then it is most definitely a font issue. Otherwise, write me back and let me know what the status screen says.
