Question
Sorry Kevin, I neglected to say on my last question about the "erroneous white box" issue with Illustrator CS3 when adding an Outer Glow or Drop Shadow effect. IT ONLY SHOWS ITSELF WHEN I PRINT TO A PDF. It is not visible within Illustrator.

Thanks!
Joe

Answer
Hi Joe,

This is a common issue with Illustrator CS3 and PDFs. The only suggestions I can give is to check the resolution in the Doc. Raster Effects Settings and then use the PDF presets when saving - do not choose your own compression settings, etc.

Try Press Quality as the preset in the PDF dialog box, then open in Acrobat. Even if the white line shows up, try printing and see if it is actually there or not. Sometimes I had white lines show up at certain zoom magnifications, but everything printed ok.

Thanks

Kevin
