Adobe Illustrator/Installing Illustrator

Question
I download the trial version of Adobe Illustrator CS4 from the website and when I used to install it in the past it would let me choose where I wanted to install it.  Now it defaults to C:\Program Files\Adobe and it doesn't show any options for changing the path.  I have a very small hard drive for the operating system and I install everything on a secondary drive.  Is there any way to edit the files and change the default install path before you start the install?  Or is there any other way to change the install path?

Thanks

Answer
Hi Andrew,

You are trying to re-install the trial version on a second drive? Well, I'm afraid I can't help you with that. It's time to consider purchasing the product.

If you meant that you have purchased the full version and are now trying to install it over the demo, but on another drive? In that case, you will need to do a complete uninstall using the CS4 Clean Utility. Please see the directions at Adobe.com: http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs4clean.html

That should work - good luck!

I can help troubleshoot your Illustrator 9 through CS3 (and most CS4) problems and suggest the best way to get the results you need. Although I can help with some installation issues, my forte is prepress and how to use the tools and functions in the application itself.
