QuestionGot Illustrator CS3 I already get rid of the prefs, due the keyboard shortcuts are not working look like Illustrator say I just will not recognize any shortcut, any suggestion?
Thank you!!
AnswerHi Victor,
It could be:
-Regional language settings are interfering with the shortcuts.
Switch system language to US (if it's not already), use any shortcut in Illustrator, and then switch back to your normal language. Shortcuts will be okay until next time you restart Illustrator. (Note: this answer was posted by steve fairbairn on Adobe.com)
-If on Mac, Keyboard settings could be a problem
1. Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu.
2. Double-click International Settings.
3. Click the Input Menu tab.
4. Deselect U.S. Extended and then select U.S.
5. Close the International dialog box.
-a program such as Kaspersky or Entourage is interfering with the shortcuts.
Quit all non-essential applications (like virus protection) running in the background TEMPORARILY and then launch Illustrator and see if the shortcut keys return. Don't forget to turn virus protection back on after testing this.
-the Intuos3 graphics tablet is known to interfere (move the pen and mouse far away from the tablet or disconnect the tablet to check this).
If this turns out to be the problem, a workaround has been posted by Dabudro on Adobe.com forums:
Start > All Programs > Wacom Tablet > Tablet Preference File Utility > Remove 'All' Preferences Files / Continue as Admin. - Give the system some time to recognize the mouse then proceed to Ai. To get back, select Start / All Programs / Wacom Tablet / Wacom Tablet Properties / Default / X to close.
Well, try these first and let me know.
