Adobe Illustrator/Exporting files

Question
QUESTION: Hi,
I am using a mac and am also new to using CS3.  My problem is exporting artwork.  I have created images in Illustrator and saved as ai., and also saved a copy as an eps., but when I go to upload any of the files, they are 'greyed' out and I cannot select them for upload.  Advice will be greatly appreciated.

ANSWER: Hi Joanna,

You need to read the instructions for upload and see what file format the uploading site accepts. You will probably have to export them out as a raster image, not a vector ai or eps.

Thanks

QUESTION: Hi Kevin,
Thanks for the reply.  The website specifically asks for eps images.  I thought that perhaps I was not saving them correctly.  Even when I save images as eps docs on my desktop, I don't seem to be able to export them? Please advise what possible scenarios are likely.  Many thanks.

Answer
Hi Joanna,

It really depends on the site you are trying to upload them to. Check their requirements if they are specifically asking for an .eps file, they are probably asking for a specific version too. You can backsave eps files to a version earlier than CS3, but it really depends on what they are asking for. Sorry I can't be more helpful, but its the site you are trying to upload to, not your software.

Thanks

Kevin
