Adobe Illustrator/Importing files from Freehand 5.5 to Illustrator 10

Question
Hi Tom,

I have a mac OS 10.3.9 with classic mac os9 attached somehow in its brain. I have and use Illustrator 10 (soon to be CS2) in the OS 10.3.9 which I absolutely love. In the classic version of 9 lies my other former love of Freehand 5.5 with many beautiful works of art that took years to complete. My question is this: is it possible to import those files from Freehand (in the os 9) to my Illustrator in 10.3.9 and be able to open or better yet print them?

Thank you.

Carol

Answer
Hi Carol,

Hmm... I'm not too familiar with Freehand however, you should be able to open in Illustrator CS3. Did you try saving as an .eps then brining it into Illustrator?
What file formats are you able to save to in Freehand?

Thank you,

Tom

I can answer Graphics questions related to Adobe Illustrator 9, 10, and CS. I also have Photoshop experience. Setting up files for printing is my main area of expertise. I am familiar with both PC and Mac platforms. No question is too silly. The only thing silly is a question not asked!
