Adobe Illustrator/saving file and getting two files?

Question
QUESTION: Hello I am using GS4 adobe illustrator and when saving my files I get two files, same name except one file  has an extension to the name of -1. A duplicate file. How do I turn this feature off! Thank you in advance.

ANSWER: Hi Kevin,

Make sure you are just using the File>save command and not Save as each time you save. This will overwrite whatever file you opened.

If this is not the case, I need to know what OS you are running.

Thanks

Kevin

Answer
Kevin,

I am very disappointed that you feel this way. I sent you exactly the answer for your issue with the duplicate question you sent (actually you sent this to me 4 separate times) so I am sending you the answer I sent you on April 2. Never did you say that you tried this option and that it didn't work, instead you kept sending me the same question over and over, leading me to believe you did not understand how this site works. You are supposed to reply to my answers with updates so that I can further investigate your issue if it did not work, thereby creating a trail of responses for others to view.

The issue you are having is a known issue and the answer is this: When saving, make sure you do NOT have "Save artboards as multiple files" checked. This is the only reason your Illustrator saves multiple files with a -1, -2, etc. when you save. It has nothing to do with your computer at all.

I would greatly appreciate it if you would revise your rating once you have tried this, since it really is a misunderstanding and not due to my lack of responses, etc. as you stated in your comments section.

Thanks

Kevin
