Adobe Illustrator/Keyboard Increment

Question
Hello Amy!

I am using AI CS3 and would like to know about the "Keyboard Increment". I am sure I can go to Edit-Preferences-General and then change the value in "Keyboard Increment" as I wish to. Anyway, can I make a menu or palette shortcut for the "Keyboard Increment" or do I have another way to make it faster than going to "Edit Menu"? Thanks a lot and best wishes to you!

I am looking forward to your important details.

Yours sincerely,

Answer
It would be great to have that feature. But no, right now you have to go to preferences when you want to change it. If you hold the Shift while nudging your object, it multiplies the set increment by 5. So I just set mine to .0125" and when I need larger jumps, I hold shift. It does help sometimes!

Expertise

I can help troubleshoot your Illustrator 9 through CS3 (and most CS4) problems and suggest the best way to get the results you need. Although I can help with some installation issues, my forte is prepress and how to use the tools and functions in the application itself.

I've been a graphic artist for over 20 years. Oh my God, 20 years.
