Question
QUESTION: when i tried to save a file which had a jpeg picture "placed" in it, but it always auto close the program without any errors or something. I tried to reboot, deleted AIpreference file or sth and save other file types (eps, ait .etc) nothing worked

ANSWER: Hi Jimmy,

How large is your jpg file? Have you tried to save another document with a different jpg placed in it? If it fails whenever any Jpg file is placed, you may need to do a clean uninstall and reinstall. Let me know the situation and then what version and OS you are running.

Thanks

Kevin

QUESTION: Hi sir,
It just closed automatically whenever i tried to save a file which had a jpeg file in it (or actually any coloured files in it, even the AI file). I'm using the XP Pro SP3. By the way, I did reinstall my OS, so it worked now, but i still would like to know how? (sorry for my English, btw)

Answer
Hi Jimmy,

If you reinstalled your OS and it fixed the issue, it was probably a corruption or incompatibility with the OS. Sometimes upgrading your OS can eliminate resources needed for Illustrator to run. Its a common issue. To prevent this in the future, if you install a new OS or upgrade significantly, run your apps and make sure they run ok, if not reinstall the apps.

Thanks

Kevin
