Adobe Illustrator/Checking Spellings

Question
Good Evening!

I am using AI CS3. I am sure when I want to check the spellings in my file, I must go to Edit-Check Spelling to check the spellings, but I feel that it's rather complex if I use 3 languages (Khmer, English, and Chinese) in the file. Could you please help me how to check only English Spellings or make it easier? Could I set the wrong spellings to be underlined as red when typing wrong texts? Could I have one more plug-in to settle the spellings?

Do provide me with any good techniques if you don't mind.

Please help me to be more confident about checking the spellings.

I am looking forward to your fast reply!

Yours sincerely,

Answer
Hi Touch,

To change your language for Spelling, go to your Illustrator preferences and under Hyphenation, change the language. Then restart Illustrator.

Unfortunately, you can only check one language at a time unless you load up a custom dictionary.

If you want the misspellings to show up with the red underline, there is no way in Illustrator to show that. However, InDesign is much more robust with Dynamic Spelling. You could input your text in InDesign, check it, then copy/paste it into Illustrator.

Wish it was better for you. As far as plug-ins, I'm not aware of any, but that doesn't mean there are none out there.

Thanks
