Adobe Illustrator/Converted AI file to MS Word

Question
Hello Kevin Stohlmeyer!

I get a file from my customer and he did it it MS Excel. He applied a Fill Color (R=204, G=255, B=204) to the column. (A) When I print it directly from MS Excel to check the sample, I got the column's color to be black small dot in it (I printed it with Canon Printer Canon Laser Shot LBP-1210). It means the quality is really good. However, when I exported it to PDF File and print it or open the PDF file in AI CS3 and start printing it, the result is not as good as it is in MS Excel itself. What I can inform you is that I redesign it in my AI and wish to print it in MS Excel and hope to remain the same result as (A) above. Could I have another program to convert AI File to MS Excel or Word without losing it's fonts and everything else? If so, what is it please?

I'll provide you with more references if it's not clear enough to understand what I asked to you.

I hope you will help me with this obstacle and give a good recommendation.

Yours sincerly

Answer
Hi Touch,

You can save your AI files out as an eps or jpg format that you can import into Microsoft products.

My question is why wouldn't you copy and paste the information from Excel into AI and just create the whole thing in there? If you have the fonts in MS Excel, you should have them available in AI. Just recreate the columns and use that to print instead of trying to get things to work in Excel.

I'm not aware of anything that will convert AI to Excel or Word. I always export out as a raster image (hi-res jpg) or save as a PDF or EPS. Both can be inserted as a graphic.

Thanks

Kevin
