Adobe Illustrator/Circle cutout

Question
Dear Kevin,

I've been struggling with cutting out a piece of my background in a perfect circle. Case is, I created an image on top of a background, but can't get rid of the excess background around this image. I only need the specific piece of background to stay behind the image as it is transparent.

Regards,

Tobias.

Answer
Hi Tobias,

Create a circular shape on top of your existing background. Then select both the background and the circle and go to Object>Clipping Mask>Make. It will clip out the background, only showing what is inside the circle.

Thanks

Kevin
