Question
Dear Kevin

I'm fighting with AI... desperatly...

We should print some samples with gradually CMYK columns. Every color from 100% to 0% gradually.

Now I changed the color from standard RGB to CMYK. Than I go, for example choosing the yellow bar/column. I set the triangles in CMK to 0% and on Y to 100%.

Then I leave this small window. Choosing, now Magenta. Just to check to be sure I leave Magenta and go back to Yellow. And what do I see?

Adobe, or any preseting, changes my setup for Yellow to this numbers: Cyan 4,57%, Yellow 88,84%, Magenta and Black 0%.

Why does this changes happen??? The same happens with Magenta and Cyan. For sure, none of my prints does fullfill a proper and correct color.

Please help - or thank you for any kind of help in this problem.

Sincerely,

Sylvain

Answer
Hi Sylvian,

Make sure your document color mode is set to the proper color setting. File>Document Color Mode. If it is RGB and you are assigning CMYK color models, it will shift to keep it in the RGB spectrum and vice versa.

Thanks

Kevin
