Question

Loosely woven yarn
Hi, what is the easiest way to make lines like those on the attached picture in Illustrator? Something resembling loosely woven yarn... Thank you very much! Best regards, Ana

Answer
Hi Ana,

Without going insane in the process, I would use the brush tool to loosely draw the shapes you are trying to create. You can also draw out a grid and then use the Scribble Effect (in the Effects menu) to try and replicate something similar to this.

Most times however, something automatic will never look as good as putting in the time and doing it by hand.
