Question
QUESTION: Hi,

I am using on old version of Illustrator CS1. I have some text converted to outline mode. The color is set with 100% opacity at "normal" under the drop down menu but it looks like it is set to 25% opacity or set to "lighten". I looked under the Appearance pallet but nothing there that would indicate a change in opacity. Any suggestions as to what is wrong?

ANSWER: Hi Mariah,

Check your layer options and make sure you do not have the layer set to a lower opacity.

Thanks!

QUESTION: Nope the layers are not set to dim opacity. Any other ideas?

Thanks!

Answer
Did you check inside the stroke and fill inside the appearance panel to see if there is a change in each of those? There are several levels to appearance. The overall opacity changes both but you can also change each piece independently.

Thanks!

Kevin
