Adobe Illustrator/Free transformation to get perspective doesn't work

Question
Dear Kevin,

I found the same question and your answer about one year ago, but your tip doesn't work for me.
Working with iMac and CS 5 AI, the following happens:

Drawing a circle, selecting with selection tool and then free transforming. Taking one point of the bounding box and start pulling, then using cmd+alt+shift and a nice perspective appears. But as soon as I let go of the mouse (still holding the keys) the perspective  view is gone and a distorted circle (bounding box is straight again but other size, looks like an average of the perspective measures but then divided to both sides of the box?!)

Tried the same with direct selecting tool, also letting first one of the other keys go (but of course that also doesn't work...), every time the same result. Is it a bug in the programme, iMac or the bug is me?

Thanks in advance,
Max

Answer
Hi Max,

The technique works, but it sounds like you have different expectations. The bounding box always resets when you release. If you have CS5, you should try using the new perspective grids. They will give you the control you are looking for.

Thanks

Kevin
