when I try to open any of the brush libraries in illustrator cs5, I get "unknown error" what's am I doing wrong?

Hi Matthew,

Are you loading them using the Load Brush Library from the Window menu or Panel drop down? If you are and still getting the error, your best option is to call Adobe Support. This is the first time I've heard of an error while loading brushes. Normally an error occurs when saving not while opening. The only thing I can think of to do is to reinstall, which is kind of drastic. Adobe support can walk you through some tips or direct you to a back door download for just the brushes in case they were corrupted somehow.

Wish I could be of more help, but "unknown error" without an error code doesn't give me much to go on.
