application of pathfinder from the pathfinder palette is different from the path finder pallet available from effect menu

Hi Neha,

The effect menu Pathfinder uses compound paths while the menu converts your shapes. They are different for a reason. The effect menu allows you to utilize the Appearance panel to remove or to edit the effect after you have applied it.
