Adobe Illustrator/Adding screen

Question
Hello!

Is there a way to add a 10% screen of black to a Pantone color swatch? I need to prep a file for two colors, but need to darken the PMS color by adding black for one little section.

I'm using Illustrator CS4 on a Mac. Thanks!

Answer
Hi Tjody,

You could add a black shape over the area with a 10% opacity, but it could change your PMS colors output to CMYK. Illustrator does not support mixing spot colors like InDesign does. InDesign has a color mixer panel that allows you to mix a CMYK color with PMS more effectively.

Wish I had a better answer, but Illustrator does not support this kind of mixing.

Thanks

Kevin
