Question
This is a continuation of a previous answer [The easiest way is to convert the items into a Live Paint Group by selecting the objects you wish to color - say the hair, then clicking on them with the Live Paint Bucket. You can then see highlighted areas that you will click to drop color into and you can use your L/R arrow keys to swap between colors in your swatches panel.]

What you suggest seems practical for fill areas. But what I need to know is how to color the "ink" outlines with SEPARATE COLORS, one for each of the various parts of the character, i.e., the outlines for the hair outline one color, skin outline another color, eye outline yet another color.... iris outline...shirt outline, etc ., etc., etc. How can I select each ink (outline)and color it?

Answer
Hi Pete,

You have to select each individual item or items to change the stroke (outline) color. In your toolbar, you will see the fill color as a solid square and the stroke color as a hollow outlined square. Click that stroke box, then choose a color to change the color of the outlines.

Thanks
